Our labour law consultants' busy business
The consultants who graduated from the union's labour law training in March have since helped more than 40 people.

26.5 months' salary, or around €35,000 - that's the amount of severance pay negotiated in 4 months by people who sought advice from G1PS consultants. Since March when our consultants graduated labour training, more than 40 people have benefited from their advice and representation.
Almost half of the cases are related to the termination of employment: employers try to save money at the expense of workers' well-being, pressuring them to "settle amicably" and sign termination agreements that deprive workers of severance pay and other compensation. When the trade union intervenes, the tone often changes and employers recall the Labour Code. When we can't reach an agreement, we go to the Labour Disputes Commission. During this period, we had to go to the Labour Disputes Commission 3 times.
As a trade union for workers who don't fit in elsewhere, we are learning to deal with a variety of unique cases: from compensation for cancelled Bolt orders, to royalties for copyright works, to the protection of personal data. We wish we could give an exact number of consultations that our team has provided, but that's impossible: we consult by mail, phone, text, live, on and off the clock, on weekends, sometimes at night... Problems at work are often very stressful, and people feel helpless and alone in the face of employers who are unequal in power.
We are here to make sure workers are not alone.
